Isfahan is a beautiful and historic city in the heart of Iran. This city became the capital of the Safavid dynasty in the 16th century. Being the capital was an advantage for Isfahan and its people, since many magnificent Persian-Islamic architectures have been built at this time and today the city retains much of its glory. 1. Isfahan Attractions, Naghsh-e Jahan Square
This is one of the largest squares in the world. This square is surrounded by some other historical buildings, such as the Ali Qapu palace, the Sheikh Lotfollah mosque, the Imam mosque and the traditional Isfahan bazaar, all dating back to the Safavid era. There are a lot of stores in this bazaar where you can buy attractive crafts.

2. Isfahan Attractions, Ali Qapu Palace
This splendid palace has been built on six floors. There are many rooms and halls in this palace. The walls are decorated with beautiful paintings and plasterwork. The terrace, where the king would seat and watch the competitions, has a wonderful view of Naqsh-e Jahan Square.

3. Isfahan Attractions, Sheikh Lotf ollah Mosque
This mosque was a private mosque for one of the most important characters of the Safavida dynasty and later became a mosque for women only. What makes this mosque more attractive is the color of the dome, which is yellowish cream, and the interior design and decoration.

4. Isfahan Attractions, Imam Mosque
Compared to the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, the Imam Mosque is larger and has a unique spiritual and peaceful atmosphere with its charming blue-tile works. Imam Mosque, located on the south of Naghshe Jahan square, is a masterpiece of Islamic-era architecture.

5. Isfahan Attractions, Traditional Bazaar of Isfahan
The Bazaar of Isfahan is a traditional Persian bazaar. These bazaars have a linear shape and different sections with many stores that are divided according to the profession, such as the sale of carpets, handicrafts and many more items. The section that is designed to make copper plates is interesting despite loud noises. The Qeisariyeh Portal is another attractive part in the bazaar that was decorated with an impressive painting.

6. Isfahan Attractions, Isfahan Jame Mosque
Isfahan Jame mosque is a really large mosque in Isfahan, where you will see the remains of different eras, this is why this structure is called an architecture museum. This mosque has many spaces that, although simple, are exceptionally impressive. One of the most attractive parts to visit is the Mihrab.

7. Isfahan Attractions, Vank Cathedral
This cathedral is located in the Jolfa district. Many Christian Armenians live in this area because many deported Armenians during the Ottoman war were resettled in Isfahan by the king of Iran (Shah Abbas) and this church was built for these people in 1606. The cathedral is really amazing, especially the interior walls, which are covered with paintings and fine frescoes. It is also interesting to mention that there are many coffee shops in the Jolfa district, since Armenians are specialists in making excellent coffees.

8. Isfahan Attractions, Chehel Sotun Palace
This beautiful palace is located near Naqsh-e Jahan Square. The palace is inside a beautiful Persian garden with a large pool. The palace walls are covered with magnificent paintings and some precious antique objects such as carpets are also displayed in some rooms of the palace.
