1. Shiraz Attractions, Persepolis
Persepolis is one of the main tourist attractions in Iran that is located near Shiraz. This impressive and ancient site was the ceremonial capital the Achaemenid Empire (515 BC). Persepolis means the city of the Persians in Greek language. By looking at these ruins, you could imagine how magnificent and elevated these palaces were at that time. It is highly recommended to visit this place with a knowledgeable guide.

2. Shiraz Attractions, Nasir-ol Molk Mosque
Nasir-ol Molk is also called pink mosque, because pink is the main color in the design and decorations of this unique mosque in Iran. This is a mosque with beautiful tiles, and stained glass windows that form an eye-catching combination of colorful lights. Early morning is the best time to see it.

3. Shiraz Attractions, Pasargadae 
Pasargadae is a city in Iran in Zagros mountains. It was the first capital of the Persian Empire. The site is located 87 km north-east of Persepolis, in the present province of Fars. The most important monument in Pasargadae is the small tomb of Cyrus II, UNESCO World Heritage Site, located on the south-west of the city. It is a small six-storey square mausoleum leading to the sepulcher, covered with a double creeping roof. The burial chamber, 3.17 meters long and 2.11 meters wide and 2.11 meters high, has a narrow entrance.

4. Shiraz Attractions, Tombs of Hafez and Saadi
Shiraz has always been famous for poetry and is home to the tombs of Hafez and Sa'adi, two famous Iranian poets. Hafez was a great poet who has had a particular importance for Persian-speaking people. The book of his poems (Divan-e Hafez) is found in the homes of almost all Iranians. Hafez's tomb in Shiraz has a calm and relaxing atmosphere.
Sa'adi was another prominent Persian poet who played an important role in the Persian language and literature. Sa'adi has two famous books, Bustan and Golestan, which are translated in many languages.

5. Shiraz Attractions, Eram Garden
Eram Botanical Garden is the most beautiful garden in Shiraz. It is an exquisite Persian garden that was built in the middle of the nineteenth century and offers impressive architecture of the pavilion as well as a relaxing atmosphere within this garden. Eram garden is a good place to relax and enjoy birdsong while watching old cypresses.

6. Shiraz Attractions, Shah Cheragh Shrine
This is a religious site in Shiraz, the tomb of two brothers of Imam Reza (the eighth Shia Imam). It is a huge and beautiful sanctuary where many pilgrims from Shiraz and other cities go. Shah Cheragh has a great interior design and dazzling windows due to its wonderful glass and mirror works.

7. Shiraz Attractions, Vakil complex (bazaar, bathroom and mosque)
The Vakil complex consists of a bazaar, a bathroom and a mosque. The Vakil bazaar is an interesting oriental bazaar that is a great place to buy local items such as carpets, crafts, spices, etc.
The Vakil bath is a traditional Persian bath. It shows the ancient Persian civilization and visitors will be amazed by its design and architecture of that time. Today, it is an anthropology museum with statues that show how it worked and what people did. The Vakil Mosque is an attractive mosque with marble columns that are simple but magnificent. This mosque has a great architecture and a large courtyard.

8. Shiraz Attractions, Karim Khan Citadel
This castle is located in the center of Shiraz and was built in 1766 BC by the Zand dynasty. Both interior and exterior of this rectangular structure is attractive. This citadel was used by Karim Khan, a king of Zand dynasty as his living quarters, During the Qajar period it was used as the governor's seat and now is a museum located within a public park.


9. Shiraz Attractions, Qavam House or Narenjestan Qavam
Qavam House is an amasing historic house belonging to a rich governor. This house is different from other historic houses. This majestic house is located within a beautiful garden. Its interior design, mirror works and paintings are so lovely. The design of the ceiling and the walls of each rooms is different from the others.

10. Shiraz Attractions, House of Zinat-ol Molk
House of Zinat-ol Molk is a historical house from the Qajar dynasty that is definitely worth visiting. It is located near the House of Qavam. This is a traditional Persian house in a beautiful garden. It has an attractive interior decoration that includes painted wooden ceilings and beautiful tiles.
